Saturday May 28th, Sunday May 29th, and Monday May 30th 2011

Dear Averie and Declan,
This past weekend was Memorial Weekend. We didn't have much planned which was fine with me. On Saturday morning Jon, Annie, Grant and Jude DeWaal came over for brunch. We had muffin melts and cinnamon rolls. I am not sure if I was more excited for the food or the company :)....I guess the company. Grant had a little bit of a hard time while he was over, but Averie you were so good to him and making sure to share your toys even when he threw a fit. You are so sweet. Declan you slept through most of the time together. You love your naps still and take about 4 a day!
On Sunday we decided to not go to church and instead took a hike at the Shoreview Park. It was a nice day but not too hot. We did about a 2 mile hike and Averie you were so good. You were scared of bears at the start of the hike, but as long as you were holding my hand you were okay :).  Declan Daddy carried you in the front pack and after a few minutes you were asleep. It was a great hike and a great family time. When we got home we BBQ and hung out as a family. Right now Averie you are really into playing games. We play memory about 1000 times a day :). You want to play while we eat, before bed, and every time in between. So we spent a lot of the weekend playing games.
On Monday we again really didn't do much. We went for a walk and BBQ ribs. Averie you ate more ribs than me :). I think you liked them because they were sweet. But I didn't care because you rarely eat meat so anytime  you do makes me happy.
Declan you have been sleeping really well lately. You go to bed at 6:30pm and most nights wake up around 1 and 4, eat and go right back to bed. You have been such an easy baby, however, you have been a bit constipated lately and I can tell that you are uncomfortable. I wish there was something I could do to make it better. Other than that you are so happy. You are really starting to grab at things and love playing on your play mat and reach up for a toy and pull at it. You are so smiley and love getting kisses.
You two make me so happy. I love you!
